Event Details

The Wiseburn School District and I.T. 4 Kids present the Fall 2009 Wiseburn Community Technology Festival.  This Community Festival is an exciting technology training event that brings together residents, students, Wiseburn teachers, and local business members in a festival atmosphere that offers valuable information technology workshops.  All proceeds will benefit the Wiseburn Technology Fund, which provides technology education to children within the Wiseburn School District.  Proceeds will support ongoing technology needs at all four schools within the Wiseburn School District.

I.T. 4 Kids promotes education and career pathing in the fields of science and technology.  This is achieved by free I.T. consultations, hardware procurement, organizing volunteer groups, and fundraiser management.

On Saturday, October 24, the Community Technology Festival will take place at Dana Middle School, located at 5504 W. 135th Street, Hawthorne, CA 90250.  A variety of technology courses will be available!  Participants will have the opportunity to attend one or two workshop classes.  Thanks to the generous donation from the XEROX corporation, the price of each 2 hour workshop is now FREE to anyone attending.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops and power cords.  Please note if you are bringing your own equipment as you sign up!

Three Styles of Courses

Family Courses: Famiy courses offer parents and students a chance to be technology learners in the same class.  Any student under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.  The adult and student must sign up for the class separately.  For example, if a parent would like to take their child to the Digital Story Telling course, the parent signs up for the course and then the child signs up too.

14 and Over Courses: These classes offer anyone 14 and over an opportunity to experience a variety of technology courses.

Teachers Only:  These courses are specifically designed for teachers of the Wiseburn School District.  Only teachers should sign up for these courses.
